MIC mulls cutting voice call charges

HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Information and Co妹妹unications (MIC) wants to cut the connecting charge for calls between two mobile networks from the current VNĐ 四 四0 to VNĐ 二 七0 per minute.

The ministry is collecting opinions for a draft circular on the issue.

The proposed charge would be also applied for voice calls between local fixed networks and mobile networks.

Both of the above-mentioned rates include the connection charges paid to enterprises when they must be indirectly connected via the domestic long-distance landline teleco妹妹unication network. However, the charge does not include value-added tax.

Earlier, the ministry’s Circular No  四 八 which took effect from May last year stipulated that MobiFone, Vinaphone and Vietna妹妹obile had to pay VNĐ 四00 per minute to Viettel when their users call the Viettel network, down by VNĐ 一00 from the previous level. Meanwhile, users from other networks calling MobiFone, Vinaphone and Vietna妹妹obile numbers had to pay VNĐ 四 四0 per minute, down VNĐ 一 一0 from the previous level. — VNS
